Our products and services are specially curated to contribute to increasing the percentage of black people immersed in the wine industry by exposing clients to black-owned wine brands, expanding our client's palate, educating our clients about wine, and creating equitable opportunities for wine professionals.

Monique Smith, the Founder and Principal Wine Consultant of The Noir Co. is a wife and mother of 3, born and raised on the Eastside of Pittsburgh, PA. She started The Noir Co. after being gifted a bottle of Black Girl Magic wine. As a wine lover, this sparked her interest in learning how many other black owned wine brands were out there! Through her research, she found that there were over 60 black owned wine brands across the world! She wanted to expose others to her newfound discovery! This was the beginning of what started out as just a thought while she sipped her wine on her living room couch!
The Noir Co. is a boutique wine event firm that serves as a platform to build community through the shared appreciation of wine. All of the wine featured through The Noir Co. are Black owned brands. It is a mixture of Monique's love of community building experiences and her love of wine! With less than 2% of black people immersed in the industry, The Noir Co. was created to help increase this percentage through engaged events, black owned wine brand exposure, palate expansion, and wine education.
The wine industry generates billions in annual revenue and there has been a growing interest in wine culture, however the wine collections are not as diverse as their growing crowds. It is important for Black people immersed in the wine industry to be uplifted and economically supported.
As Pittsburgh's first and only Black-owned, woman-owned boutique wine event firm. We are dedicated to creating unique wine-centered experiences that celebrate diversity while building meaningful connections through the shared appreciation of wine.
